Say What?

I find this story in particular quite unbelievable yet exciting at the same time, particularly because I live in the state in question. So according to the Washington Post there's a rumor making the rounds here in good ole Virginia that the Democratic party wants Ben Affleck as the new senator! Apparently Mr. and Mrs. Affleck (aka. Jennifer Garner) have been house hunting in the Charlottesville area, and the Dems are looking for a "name" to challenge Sen. George Allen for his spot in the senate next year. First of all I dont believe Ben would ever consider that right now, Second I do believe that they may have been looking to buy property in the area. Charlottesville is nice, and it's already home to Sissy Spacek, John Grishman and some other people I'm sure .. Plus Cville is only an hr from me, and I personally would love Ben and Jen as neighbors .. Oh yeah Third, Jennifer is from WVA and I dont see Ben moving to West Virginia. But for now Ben's reps are dismissing the claim saying he's too busy making movies to get involved in politics. But have you seen his movies lately? Senator Affleck seems much more promising.

Week 3

USC got off to slow start Sat against Oregon, the Ducks managed lead the game off 13-0. After that, the Trojans lead the rest of way winning 45-13. There's been questions on whether or not the Trojans would be able to set up their defense against the Ducks. Luckily that didnt seem to be case the Trojans have won a Pac-10 record-tying 25 consecutive games, as well as 16 straight Pac-10 games, 11 road games in a row (1 shy of the school record) and 12 consecutive versus AP Top 25 teams USC will visit No. 14 ranked Arizona Sat October 1 st. The Sun Devils may prove to be a lil more of a challenge for the Trojans but I have no doubt they will come out victorious. pic via usctrojans.collegesports.com

USC had a great weekend game against Arkansas Matt Leinart passed for 381 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another TD in less than three quarters, Bush scored the first two times he touched the ball, and No. 1 Southern California routed the Razorbacks 70-17, rolling up 736 yards in total offense. Let's Get Personal

When I first started this blog, I thought I would keep it light and "fun" full of celebrity news and hot boys. I had no intention including my personal life on here. It wasnt until recently when I read a guy I knows live journal that made me question my life. After reading Thomas's journal I realized how much I have changed. I use to be someone of certain depth, as of late I've become so wrapped up in the "fluff" of findin a hot guy and other non-important shit. I began to think and came to the conclusion that I need to make some changes in my life. First of all I dont exactly know how many people read my blog, and right now I'm really not that concerned with it. I just need an outlet to get these feeling/emotions out.

So right now I'm living in Roanoke Virginia which is your basic plain jane town, I mean it has it's quirks. But I have always known that this isnt the place for me. There's no room for personal or professional growth. Whenever I visit New York, Boston, Chicago there's somethng in me that lightens up, like the feeling of just arriving home after a long trip. Maybe it's the idea of endless possiblities that one city can hold that excites something deep inside me. I'm ready for new experiences but it's my fear that hinders me from making the leap. Looking at my life I see that I have fallen into such a repetitve pattern, one that I'm not very pleased with. My life now consist of work, eat, sleep, then the same shit all over again. I feel like I'm missing something, probably because I'm not living life to the fully as I once did. For one I use to be a hella of a lot more active, as of late tho I have been working slowly into gettin back into the grove of things. Running daily and doing yoga ( which is great for ur body) again.

I guess the biggest thing that I am lacking is compaionship. Sure I have friends and all, but very few of those realtionships are based on any real substance. Yeah it's aight to have friends that you hang out with, go out with, have fun and party with. But there comes a time when you want to have a real fuckin converstaion with someone on real issues. Preferably with someone who can contribute to the converstation as well. Not to mention that dating in this area for myself is really bleak. Maybe it's the lack of diversity in the area, I am in part a black male, who happens to be interested primarly in caucasian males. I dont know if it's the fact that I live in the south or not, but I'm not goin to harp on the fact either. I just know what I'm lookin for and what I want, so I'm def not goin to settle. Hope you all if anyone enjoys a lil insite to my life, I'll be back with half naked guys tomorrow lol..

News

You may have noticed that I have not posted anything concerning the 2 major diasters that we have been faced with. First being of course Hurricane Katrina there's nothing that I can say that hasnt already been sad. There has been soo much press about why the folks in New Orleans didnt recieve help sooner. I just hate to think in 2005, that a person's skin color determines the amount of help someone recieves. I come from a mixed back ground, part of it black, I just refuse to believe that I still live in a world where something like that is still a major problem, maybe I'm just naive. If you want more coverage there are thousands of outlets I'm just not one of them. Secondly this past weekend was the 4th anniversity of 9/11. I dont think there's anything that I can say, it was horrible, hopefully we are a stronger nation now. Too bad we cant all come together and help each other out, rather than lookin for someone to place the blame on.

Oh The Comeback

Ok since Monday was Labor Day, I labored, therefore I got a lil behind in my blogging and Tivo. I finally found time to watch the season/series finale of The Comeback. And boy this ep. def was not a let, I have to credit Michael Patrick King the way he wrote the ep. it really could serve as the series finale or season. No word yet on if HBO is picking the show up or not, god I hope so. Ok so now to the highlights from the show.
- Mickey decides to choose the The Comeback's premier as his coming "out" party introducing his lover Robert.
- Valerie going to Jane's apt with the camera crews after seeing all the "edited" material from the first show.
- Surpising was Paulie G who had nothing but good things to say about Valerie during the interview, seeing how he treated her like shit for most of it.
- Valerie after going on the Tonight Show, " Get out of here, Jane I dont smoke on camera."
- And finally Valerie having a slew of fans await her departure from the Tonight Show.
Even if the show doesnt come back at least Valerie Cherish went out on top. Please HBO dont be cruel. pics via www.hbo.com

Week One

First week out the box my USC trojans fuckin killed Hawaii ( 63- 17) Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart ( and Kristin from Laguna Beach's ex) threw for 332 yards and 3 touchdowns. This was USC's 23rd straight win! Leinart also managed to beat Carson Palmer's record of 72 touchdown, with 74. Reggie Bush rushed for 84 yards and gained 2 touchdowns. The Trojans will face Arkansas on Sept 17th. I'm really hoping we can do a 3-peat.

Shaking Up the Charts

This week Mariah becomes the first female to hold the Number 1 and Number 2 postion on the Billboard's Hot 100's chart. With Number 1 being We Belong Together and Number 2 goin to Shake It Off. This is Mariah's 14th Week @ Number 1 with WBT.. if she can hold out for 2 more weeks she will haved tied her own record for the longest running single that being One Sweet Day. Also here are some pics of Mariah from the taping on the World Music Awards set to air Sept. 13th on ABC, where she will perform Shake It Off !
